Trouble Up Ahead

One thing (of many) that I have learned on this health journey with James is this: there are always warning signs, though most seem insignificant at the time.

James was born on June 13, 2008.  He was the one out of all of my children to have problems at birth.  A heart murmur was found on initial examination, and he was born with a skin tag on his ear.  At about three months of age we discovered James had an inguinal hernia and had to have surgery correct it.

Our Lord answered our prayers and closed the hole in James' heart within the first few days of his life.  The surgery for his hernia was scary for this Mama and Daddy, but it went well, and not much else "exciting" happened for a while.

Most people would think that these were a set of unrelated health issues, but all together these pointed to problems with development;  problems that weakened my precious boy and made him more susceptible to the onset of autism later in his life.

I read in Proverbs 30 today, and this particular verse stood out. "Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him." We put our trust in Him and believe His Word (which IS Him! John 1:1 KJV) and He protects us.  I can testify to the truth of this scripture.  Through these past few months God has been very real, and His shield has been evident.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

The BEST thing I could ever Learn and Tell

...is that Jesus Christ died for me, and he died for YoU! I was saved by grace. God wants you to be, too. That means I didn't have to be a good person or clean myself up before I came to Him, I just agreed with Him that I was a sinner, and that the only way to Heaven was through Jesus and his blood; I received Him as my Saviour! It's a wonderful peace to be free--I'd love to talk with you about it!
